![]() ![]() Then I have to place a few library files inside the X-Plane 11 custom scenery folder, namely the world-models from World2Xplane, R2_Library and ff_library_extended_LOD. Someone in the Youtube also commented that there are pre-generated. ![]() Before I can start generating files, I download the OSM files generated from Planet.osm in. ini files for the application to use more RAM to accelerate the process. So I need to generate more up to date overlay, and to that, I followed this guide in YouTube.īasically I need to download World2Xplane. ![]() So it doesn’t really match the latest satellite image which I generated. The default overlay in X-Plane, however, are outdated or isn’t that detailed. Apparently I also need to use the overlay function in Ortho4XP to create a custom overlay, and modify the scenery_packs.ini files for the roads and buildings to show up in X-Plane 11. While doing the first try flying in Miri, I noticed the absence of buildings and roads. I just need to copy the folder into X-Plane 11 Custom Scenery folder and fire up the Simulator to fly with real satellite terrain image. Ortho4XP will output a new folders with all the included terrain data inside its Tiles folder. If that doesn’t work, I re-install all content fresh from the zip file, and fixing registry with CCleaner. I solved them first by purging the OSM files. While fiddling with Ortho4XP, I sometimes run into errors. While reading up, some people reported that Google will IP ban if there’s too many request from a certain IP. It worked and I am able to download files from Google server. Ortho4XP default config files for Google Map source is outdated, so I have to follow this guide in Youtube to modify it. Obviously Google Map image is pretty good so I’ll start with that. There are not a lot of satellite image for Miri. Here’s what I wanted – latest and most detailed ground texture for my hometown, that’s Miri. It turn out to be a little more complicated than I thought, and there are a few more softwares I need to install before I can get everything up to what I wanted. I followed this guide in AVsim forum to get things started. The software to do it is called Ortho4XP. I just found out that I can actually import satellite image into X-plane and use it as terrain texture. ![]()
